This puzzle is dedicated to
Martin Gardner.

The M is formed of seven coins, see the Start diagram.
The goal is to rearrange the M into the G, see the Goal
diagram. Note that the final G must be in the upward
position, exactly as shown.
Move one coin at a time so that in its new position it
touches at least two other coins from the unmoved group,
except the case when this coin (marked as @) makes a
straight line triad, like O@O.
Could you achieve the goal in four single coin moves?
How many single coin moves will you need to rearrange
the G back into the M? |
