Since 1993 the World's foremost mathematicians, puzzlers and magicians are regularly gathering in Atlanta to attend the Gathering for Gardner (G4G), the unique event founded by Gardner fan and puzzle collector, Tom Rodgers, and organizing with help of many enthusiastic and talented folks deeply influenced by Martin Gardner's work and life.

Getting together in Atlanta, all G4G attendees bring with them some writings related to math, magic, or puzzling, and prepared specially in honor of Martin Gardner. Then these pieces are exchanged so that each G4G participant brings home a vast compendium of modern mind creations.

It is the first collection of G4G pieces gathered under one cover, and published by A K Peters, Ltd. in 1999. It collects 38 selected papers -- mostly from the first Gathering for Gardner (G4G1) and a few additional submissions.
